Class Descriptions

At Shanti, all students are welcomed and respected, from those who have never set foot in a yoga studio, to seasoned practioners.

Given that our classes are all levels, in a given moment you may see a student resting comfortably on their knees in Child’s Pose, while another stands comfortably on their hands in Handstand. We encourage you to use your practice as a living, breathing expression of the yoga tenet of Satya; truth. Living into your truth on the mat is how you’ll keep your body safe and your mind clear.

Shanti Heated & Mildly Heated Flow: All Levels

Our heated vinyasa flow classes are open to all levels of experience with the understanding that students work within their comfort. There is no expectation that all poses/variants offered are taken. Classes move at a fluid pace and on the breath, but offer plenty of space for modifications as well as advancements. Be prepared to sweat, laugh and leave class feeling rejuvenated and vibrant.

Stretch & Restore: All Levels

This 60-minute class will incorporate all of the physical benefits and mindfulness practices of our Shanti Flow classes, in a warm room and without repetitive Vinyasa Flow (High to low push up, upward facing dog, downward facing dog).  Both standing and floor poses will be explored and students are encouraged, as always, to move at their own pace.  Restorative poses using bolsters, blankets, and blocks will also be offered at certain points during the class. 

Barre: All Levels

Our Barre classes are high energy, playful and challenging. You’ll start with a warm up and sequence of upper-body exercises, which include free weights, push-ups, planks and other moves to target the biceps, triceps, chest, and back muscles. Next, you’ll use the ballet barre and your own body weight for resistance to focus on the thigh and seat muscles. Classes will always include core work and are set to up-tempo music in a non-heated room. Students are encouraged to wear socks with grips on the bottom for traction (we sell them right at the studio!).

INFERNO HOT PILATES, LEVEL 1

Inferno Hot Pilates is a High Intensity, low-impact workout that uses the Tabata method of interval training (HIIT). It is a full body method which utilizes the principle of control, adapted from Pilates. Expect to move through simple, effective, and doable movements, like squats, glute bridges, lunges, planks etc. Inferno Hot Pilates is complimentary to yoga practices, weight lifting, cycling and, generally, being a modern human! IHP is for everyone, all levels are welcome.

The beauty of IHP is that it is HIGH INTENSITY and LOW IMPACT, leaving your joints happy and healthy. In Studio classes are taught in a heated room (90 degrees). Please come prepared with your own props, mat, water and towel

INFERNO HOT PILATES, LEVEL 2

Level Two Inferno Hot Pilates is a high intensity, low impact workout that uses the Tabata method of interval training. In Level two classes, we incorporate the use of dumbbells and resistance bands. You will gain muscle mass and get stronger by the class with this incredible workout!

The beauty of IHP is that it is HIGH INTENSITY and LOW IMPACT, leaving your joints happy and healthy. In Studio classes are taught in a heated room (90 degrees). Please come prepared with your own props, mat, water and towel.
